My name is Amanda Richey. I'm a sophomore Environmental Science and Communication Studies double major

at Furman University.

 

I've had a passion for the environment for as long as I can remember.

Growing up in Louisiana, I witnessed first-hand the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. I was horrified

that I couldn't do anything to help my community recover. 

 

Then I discovered my love of writing.

 

I am confident that my dedication to balanced environmental reporting

and my expertise will be an invaluable asset to you.
